How an acquisition works here
- 01
Set your criteria
Sector, canton, size and the kind of transaction you want. Saved criteria bring matching businesses to you rather than leaving you to check the market every week.
- 02
Read the anonymous profile
Every business is published without its name: activity, region, size band, client structure and the reason for the succession. Enough to judge fit, not enough to identify the company.
- 03
Give the confidentiality undertaking
You accept the undertaking, the owner reviews who you are, and only then are the name, the figures and the contact released to you.
- 04
Negotiate in a private channel
Messages, documents and a written offer with structured terms all stay in one confidential channel, with a record of who saw what and when.
Questions buyers ask
- Do I need to be a specialist in the sector?
- For regulated professions — audit, medical practices, certain financial services — the buyer or a partner usually needs the relevant qualification. In most other sectors, owners care more about a credible plan for the staff and clients than about your background.
- How much equity do I need?
- For businesses in the CHF 500,000 to 3 million range, a third of the price in equity is a common starting point, with seller financing and a bank facility covering the rest. The financing calculator lets you test a structure before you approach anyone.
- Can I see the accounts before committing?
- Yes, once the owner has approved your access request. Financial statements and other documents are shared inside the confidential channel, not by email attachment.
- What does SwissSuccession charge a buyer?
- Browsing, saved criteria and access requests are free. A success fee of 2% of the transaction value (1.5% for Professional and Corporate buyers), with a minimum of CHF 5,000 and a maximum of CHF 50,000 plus VAT, is payable only if you complete an acquisition introduced through the platform. The terms are frozen and shown to you before you request access to any business. Advisers, lawyers and financing institutions you ask us to bring in charge their own fees, agreed with them directly.
